May & her flowers...


The month of May never disappoints us with her gorgeous flowers...right now on the west coast where I live, everything is in full bloom...butterflies & hummingbirds seem to be everywhere...our nights are still very cool with mid 70s in the afternoons...clear bluer than blue skies..a beautiful time of year...farmers & flower market are held several times a week right now...I shopped both this past week & brought home many faves I could not resist...fresh cherries my fave fruit...also delicious avocados...melons..heirloom tomatoes...Antiquing is always busy here...all the markets and shops are full of fresh finds...now sourcing French country garden antiques for a new client & Rue 27...many special events...weddings...parties & entertaining happening in the next few weeks...Wishing you a wonderful Memorial Day and the beautiful first days of Summer...Sharing with you...dining al fresco this week at my home & some of the beautiful flowers grown locally here...πŸ’™

Easter Dining



Easter...Spring is in full bloom...Easter was early this year & welcomed enthusiastically here with fabulous weather...gorgeous flowers...beautiful blue skies...Easter Dining is a tradition for our family..sometimes formal and other times..a picnic at the beach...Spring is always busy...many wonderful antique markets...farmers markets and a gorgeous wine country wedding...Sharing with you a glimpse at my last few weeks of Spring & Easter celebrating..Happy Easter!

Celebrating...entertaining!


Entertaining...celebrations...birthdays...dinners...love them all...in the last few weeks I have entertained more than usual...two birthdays...entertaining with family & friends...wine & cheese with neighbors and clients...I love to entertain...always enjoy setting the table...love to arrange an artful mix of delicious fruits & cheese on a large bread board...I always use my antiques when entertaining...My faves...French silver & linens with monograms...antique candlesticks & altar candle holders with tall tapers...love vintage and antique goblets...china & serving pieces..French baguette baskets...I baked a delicious French chocolat layer cake with seven minute frosting for my fave two guys birthdays...we celebrated all weekend...what fabulous memories...We also dined at Napa Rose restaurant at one of the local wineries...a fabulous evening...Hosted a small dinner party...I baked Mimi Thorisson delicious Creme Fraiche chicken...a fave recipe...and more wonderful desserts...a Southern banana cream pie that my friends here on the West coast went crazy for...it was definitely a big hit...I also shopped  several wonderful antique markets..brought home a truck full for Rue 27 Maison...Sharing with you a small glimpse into the last few weeks...

Christmas festivities...


Christmas...magical..joyful..festivities with family & dear friends...a Holy holiday that keeps the spirit in our hearts throughout the year...a season that makes us grateful and thankful..even more so when we give to others...this years Christmas festivities in our home started the first of December when we put up our trees..hanging ornaments from years past...and continued until late today...lots of entertaining this year...Holiday baking this last week and then our Christmas Eve & Christmas Day dinner & gift giving..I hope each of you had a wonderful holiday...Sharing with you a small glimpse of Christmas this year in my homeπŸ’š

As November fades ....


The last days of November are bittersweet for me...sad that Thanksgiving is over...yet anticipating the wonderful Christmas season that is upon us...Thanksgiving dinner with family and friends is one of my fave celebrations...I love everything about Thanksgiving...the food...everything pumpkin...golden leaves outside...cool crisp weather..most of all sharing this special time with loved ones...memories revisited & new ones made...much to be grateful for this year....I used persimmons this year everywhere...my Grandmother loved them...I felt like she was here with us...I made her delicious cornbread dressing...several turkeys..a traditional roasted turkey & a smoked one...Southern bourbon ham with all the sides...many desserts...my Dad's favorite chocolate pie...pumpkin pie & white layer cake with French buttercream...now to start decorating the tree...Sharing with you a glimpse of my Thanksgiving week πŸ’›
